Welcome Wendy Steendam

A new chapter begins at VECRA today as we welcome Wendy Steendam AM APM as VECRA’s new regulator.

Wendy joins VECRA after an outstanding career in public service, including more than 40 years with Victoria Police, where she built a reputation for integrity, accountability and service to the Victorian community. She brings a long history of strategic leadership in complex regulatory and enforcement environments.

As Victoria’s independent early childhood regulator, VECRA plays a critical role in keeping children safe from harm and improving service quality in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

Wendy’s extensive experience leading complex organisations, driving reform and delivering positive outcomes for the community will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our work with providers and services across Victoria.

We are delighted to welcome Wendy to VECRA and look forward to the leadership, expertise and perspective she will bring to the organisation.
