Submit a complaint about an early childhood service

Use this form to make a complaint to the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA).

If you believe this is a criminal matter, contact Victoria Police immediately on 000.

Please contact your service directly if your complaint relates to:

fees
child care subsidy (CCS)
workplace issues relating to your employment, such as leave, penalty rates, rostered breaks or discrimination
lost items.

You can also make a complaint about CCS payments and policy to the Australian Government Department of Education.

Privacy collection notice

As the sector regulator, VECRA Operations Branch is collecting the above personal information to assess and investigate complaints about early childhood services.

Where VECRA is exercising functions under the Education and Care Services National Law Act (National Law), personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In all other cases personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic).

VECRA uses the information you provide to contact you, verify details, request further information, and provide an outcome to the query or complaint. You may choose to remain anonymous, however, this may limit our ability to investigate or respond, particularly where the matter relates to the care of a child. If necessary, we will contact you to discuss how to proceed.

The information you provide will be held by the Operations Branch and may be accessed by authorised personnel from within VECRA for the purpose of addressing your complaint. VECRA may use and disclose personal information as required or authorised under the National Law and other applicable legislation. This may include disclosure to government agencies, departments or law enforcement bodies. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to prevent or lessen a risk to a person’s health, safety or welfare.
